26 Apr Grand Designs with Knightsbridge Fine Art
Happy to announce that I will be taking part in the yearly exhibition of some of the very best Interior and Exterior Design across the United Kingdom. I am even more excited to announce that I will be doing this event with the amazing Knightsbridge Fine Art, London.
As the business expands, you generally expect these opportunities to occur, but i must admit, I love the idea of doing this show as it puts the artwork in to a possibly different audience from the clients you get from doing, say maybe an art fair.
The work has changed massively over the last few years, I am taking on more clients who want to have work in their garden as they see it as an extension of their home, and during the summer months, probably spend as much time outside as what they do inside. So naturally, we had to make sure that the work which is produced in the studio is as durable to the exterior elements as it can be. So we use a varnish on the burned steel which has a UV protection against the sun and rain all season through.
Behind every piece of art, there is a story. For me, it’s the love of using fire and a mix of chemicals to create coastal inspired landscapes that will fit into most environments. I love where I live in Sussex, It is near the coast and has a plentiful mix of colours ingrained into the countryside, this sometimes gets mixed in with the times that I spend exploring the Australian outback and the colours intentionally collide to give the work its unique burned vibe. I generally explore as much of the countryside as I can looking for hints and elements of colour that I can infuse in to the work. Places such as desolated buildings or a burned out shell of a car has just as much influence as far as the colour goes than a traditional beautiful landscape.
Waadi Kooba is a piece of artwork that was inspired directly from spending time in Australia and the outback near NSW borders.
So, We would dearly like to see you at Grand Designs this coming May. Be inspired and find that perfect piece of artwork.
