  • Part of the installation at the "Almonry Gardens, Battle" during October 2017 1st of 3 steel shells each weighing 34kg and measuring 2m in height with a diameter of 70cm. Made using Arabica Coffee, plaster and oils.
  • The central part of the Almonry Gardens consisted of 9 small scale steel installations. Each of a different size. These were predominantly brass sculptures made using coffee and oils.

  • The story behind Into the Abyss explores our relationship with the energy industry within the UK
  • These were some of the original sample shells when we started our pre curation and mock ups for the solo show.

  • Larger field mortar shell
  • The small predominantly red ones show a smaller country which produces a mass amount of C02. A country which is a high consumer of C02 emissions but has a smaller population, such as Korea which has a population of 50m is shown here
  • The colours reflect the amount of C02 a country produces per capita.
  • Sourcing the largest shells from a field near flanders, however the 2 main ones are Russian 80mm AT shells.
  • The shells come in various sizes and shapes but are predominantly brass.
  • The shells were purchased from a dealer I know in Sussex who sources the shells from battlefields across Europe
