Fresh Art Fair 2025 at Alexander Palace with Hannah Ivory Baker

After all the anticipation, the time arrived for Fresh Art Fair at Alexander Palace, London with the extremely talented Hannah Ivory Baker under the Highgate Contemporary Banner for the weekend. With all the hype surrounding this and the amount of time and effort that both of us had put into the creation and set up of the event, I thought It may be a good time to put some words down about the fair whilst I am still collecting my thoughts and ideas. But wow, what an event, It was the first fair that both Hannah and myself had run together and the first time on a stand since about 2013, so a lot to reengage with and relearn.

We had chosen a mix of work previous to take to the fair, some from previous collections as well as the bulk of the new work that we had both spent large parts of the Autumn preparing. As we have both taken part in a lot of fairs before and both have a good idea of how best to curate the stand to accentuate the work, we set to work to create a stand which shown a good range of depth and colour as well as creating the linear effect to what Hannah and me play against. One of the main concepts with this is getting the right size and space with the works and creating that synergy two exhibiting artists need to share, it is sometimes easy to overhang a stand, this is not always the right answer.

Throughout the show, I think Saturday was the busiest, It was really good to see Tabish Khan who writes for FAD and The Londonist make an appearance and come over to say hello to us both. The lighting in the photos do us no justice at this point however.

We encouraged everyone who came along to touch the surface of the artwork as that’s one of the great things about the fair, the fact that you can ask the artist questions and get to interact with the work in the way the artwork was made to be. Thanks Mike Thebridge for demonstrating this.

We had a fantastic team with us helping out throughout the weekend helping with sales and talking to all the collective souls who had come out to find their perfect piece of work. I don’t think we could of got it all done if we were just on our own.

We are already glad to announce that we will be taking part again in Fresh Art Fair in 2026 at Alexander Palace, here we go.
