Ironsea followed the Remescrape series and the progression in making abstract landscape paintings on steel progressed rapidly with the collection spanning over 50 individual pieces which were created over 2-3 years. With this collection, the introduction of Sugar Strips and Liquorice first appeared and were added to the fire of creation along with the oils and the coffees previously used. The colours I seemed to revert to most during this were the Reds and Blues in the colour palette as they appealed most at the time, I believe I had been drawn to the landscapes during the evening at sunset for my inspiration. I had also experimented with Soap, Salt and Parrafin Wax during this period, this year was also my first Battersea Affordable Art Fair experience.
Works on steel measuring 50cm materials include Liquorice, Coffee, Oils and Paraffin Wax.
