Installation at Novotel, Canary Wharf, London now taking shape. The original commission was to undertake both feature walls on the ground floor of the lobby and the bar area in Novotel’s newest flagship hotel in Canary Wharf. Shown here are 2 wall spaces pre completion.
The original concept was presented to me as a hull of a rusted ship liner. So part of the process has included how to make rust within a 4 hour period. Using a chemical process using Ferric Chloride and heat to accelerate the reaction time. All the work is on steel sheets of various size and shapes. The entire project has a weight of 1/2 tonne. The project originally had a 3-4 week turnaround for the work to be completed.
