19 Jul A Summer Full of Commissions
As we enter the middle of 2024, Its sometimes good to pause for 5 minutes to have a look at what you have created. June and July have been dominated by commissions for private and commercial alike and I am now heading into the final stages of completing on an interiors project for a private client which involves an entire revolving wall of steel. As this is not complete, It would be not be pro to show the work as it stands at present, but I will be showing the full piece on completion.
So for this commission, actually, this was a really personal commission, it was for a client that comes in the shop on a regular basis, loves the work and really wanted to find her perfect piece, a local lady who does great things for women’s sport in the community and is something of an icon to lots of locals. Her father passed away, and she wanted a piece that resonated with him, the colours that he loved and a piece that she could happily look at everyday, seeing it now dominates both sides of her home working area, and remind her of him.
The process to complete this was detailed and I wanted to show her the process from start to finish, and she being a perfect client was happy for me to work the art in my own fashion to get the results that I believed she desired.
The commission fitted well on the wall of the office space and the Brunswick Greens and Gold Leaf that I used complimented the immediate surrounding well. The teal is such a summer colour and fits into most interiors and still is one of the most popular colours when it comes to clients looking for their ideal piece.
