30 Apr Samuel Peacock Studio feature in “The Insider” Magazine
Its with great pleasure that I can announce that 3 of my paintings were sold to an interiors company via a broker that I use in the West of England. The paintings are now on display in a very high spec home in that part of the world alongside a host of other contemporary artworks. This coincides with a joint show that I have going on at present at The Pencil Tree Gallery located in Bath organised by long time collaborator with the studio, Modern Art Buyer Gallery. We have been working on a number of site specific interiors projects over the last year and are only just now beginning to see the fruits of our labour as the work gets put in to a completed interiors space.
Specifics of the artwork
Myrtle Coast 39cm in Diameter was one of the paintings used on this project. The work utilises a mix of traditional oils and coffee burned onto a steel disc which we get cut for use on projects by a really good local steel cutter. The work is backed with a timber square which is glued onto the steel. The organic coffee is mixed in with the oils and repeatedly heated until the right colours are made. I have worked on several of these projects over the years and the most important part of this is to get exactly what the client wants. For this, I usually use a few different test samples to show the client a feel of the colour and the texture. I work to spec on these projects and it is usually to the clients wants and wishes how the colours are determined. Sometimes, we have stock which is applicable to a project which helps.
