Free Shots, A joint show between artists Samuel Peacock and Roys People taking place at Boxpark, Shoreditch, London. October 13th-16th. The show represents the first time in over 10 years where both artists have come together on a joint solo show in London. Happening through Frieze Week 2022.
Free Shots is a show where both artists will get a chance to come together and show some of their new work as well as parts of their back catalogue in East London at the stunning Boxpark arcade based on Bethnal Green Road.
“We felt that it was a good time to show together as we are both at different points in our careers, and no longer show with the same galleries anymore, so we don’t naturally see each others work in gallery spaces or at some of the art fairs which we have been to worldwide over the years, so this was as good as time as any to put a seminal retrospective of sorts together to look back over the work and see how it has progressed”
“Both Roy and I work on different materials, but i think we are very similar in the way we approach art and how we execute series of work. We still speak on the phone about ideas that we have with making the work and how we produce things and what works well. We both still enjoy making collections of work for galleries and for our own client base.
We have also been working on 10 collaborative pieces together for the event. Some that will be for sale exclusively at the show and some that we are going to leave for free around the Shoreditch/Hoxton area throughout the show. These will be the first mixed media collaborations ever produced by us and look amazing. Keep an eye out for all the details on social media in the run up to and whilst the show is on.
